Meditation and Healing
for Well-being

Meditation is:
  • Focussed concentration, which helps to reduce mental activity
  • Relaxed awareness and alert stillness
  • Being present with what is
  • Learning how to be rather than do
  • Discovering what is real and what is illusion
  • Letting go and accepting
  • A form of self-healing
There are many different types and methods of meditation, but at the heart of them lies a simple and natural mental technique.  This is to gently centre the focus of the mind on something simple – an image, a word, a sound or one’s own breath.  Concentrating in this way enables us to calm and quieten the mind to some extent, which is what brings about the unique benefits of regular meditation practice.
Meditation creates a state of relaxed awareness, and this may bring about the following:
alleviation of stress / stress management
improved quality of sleep
ability to relax and release tensions
health benefits (e.g. lower blood pressure, stronger immune response - which have been proven in research studies)
improved mood and emotional well-being
feeling calm and peaceful
awareness and insight
spiritual development
In a meditative state of greater awareness, one can connect with one’s soul, higher self or inner wisdom.  In this way, meditation can help us to know our true essence and highest energies of love and peace.  These experiences can lead to greater self-knowledge, self-love and love for others.
From a meditative experience of inner stillness and peace, one may move into states of pure being and oneness.  For those interested in spiritual development, meditation has much to offer.
The meditation session
Christine offers meditation training one to one.  This allows her to create an individual personalised programme to help each client achieve their own particular goals in learning to meditate.  A series of lessons over a period of weeks assists the client to practice, strengthen and integrate their new skill with ongoing support.  The number and frequency of lessons are flexible and set to suit the client.  Christine’s aim is to enable each client to incorporate a rewarding meditation practice into their lives.  For clients with meditation experience, she can assist and support them in developing their practice, working towards new goals if they wish.
"Christine has a peaceful and centred way of encouraging meditation practice.  I found her guidance practical and compatible with a busy life."   RJ, banker

Healing is a natural energy therapy.  It involves the flow of beneficial life-force or universal energy from the highest source through the healer to the client.  The healer directs healing energy to where it is needed in the client’s energy system, treating the whole person at the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.  This restores energy and re-establishes balance.  Healing releases stress and tension, relaxes the body and strengthens the client’s own inherent self-healing ability.
Healing encourages well-being at all levels and is helpful with a wide range of conditions.  It can provide significant support for conventional medical treatment as well as other therapies and is also effective in maintaining good health and vitality.  The treatment is safe, non-intrusive, gentle and nurturing.
The healing session begins with conversation, as areas requiring help are brought into awareness and given compassionate attention.  The client is usually lying down, fully clothed and comfortable, for the healing treatment, as this supports the process of relaxation into healing.  Christine channels the healing energy through her hands, which she holds a short distance from the client’s body.  A sensation of warmth or a feeling of peace may be experienced as the energy flows.  Clients often find the sessions deeply relaxing and restorative.  Other positive shifts frequently follow.
Healing is offered in a caring and gentle way that focuses on the truth of the client’s own experience.  The healing session provides a sacred space that supports this process.  There is time for reflection and integration afterwards.
